Ian Rutledge was consultant in the making of the new Turkish documentary about the Ottoman Empire’s role in the First World War: Kut al-Amara
Kut al-Amara is the story of the Ottoman Empire’s last great victory against the British during the First World War. Its victory at Gallipoli is relatively well known; Kut al-Amara is not.
Kut al-Amara has been made by Doludizgin Productions Company (Creative Films) of Istanbul. It has been three years in the making and involved filming and interviews in seven countries. Its first showing will be announced soon by the company.
